On Monday June 17th, the 68-year-old former president “Mohamed Morsi” has died in the courtroom during his trial session under the case known as “Communication with Hamas” due to a cardiac arrest after fainting. He died on his way to the hospital.

According to the report, the former president “Mohamed Morsi” suffered medical negligence and euthanize simce the first moments of detention. He suffered chronic diabetes led to serious complications including severe weakness in the left eye and blisters in the mouth and tooth due to inhumane detention conditions.

The organization expresses its deep regret to the medical neglect of the president Mohamed Morsi throughout 6 years led to death. It stresses that the medical negligence is one of the long-term torture means that clearly violates the Egyptian constitution and prisons’ regulations.

It, also, condemns all the torture and medical negligence violations as they violate the international laws and instruments ratified by Egypt, most notably: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. It calls on the Egyptian security forces to provide the appropriate medical care for the detainees inside detention facilities.
