As a part of the follow-up of “Salam International Organization for the Protection of Human Rights-SPH”, on the development of the regional and international situation with regard to migrants and refugees, and in conjunction with the International Day of Migrants on 17 December;
The organization appreciates the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and Displaced Persons signing of the memorandum of understanding and the support agreement with the Qatar Development Fund (QFD) worth US 16 million dollars to support the core resources of the commissioner.
The understanding will be a continuation of the projects of the Qatar Development Fund and the UNHCR aimed at supporting refugees and displaced persons, including support that will ensure UNHCR’s continued active role in providing international protection to those marginalized and vulnerable groups and finding long-term solutions to their problems.
In this context, the organization believes that the official international community should adopt similar positions to the Qatar Development Fund, which helps organizations and stakeholders achieve global stability by providing decent lives for displaced people, refugees and displaced persons, empowering them and promoting education, health and social services.
