
“Ola Al Qaradawi” continues her hunger strike for the 4th after extending her detention

The Egyptian security authorities continue their violations against the citizens and the Egyptian legislations. On July 3rd, 2019, The Egyptian Public Prosecutor ordered to free “Ola Youssef Al Qaradawi” who is held for 2 years. Yet,The Egyptian authorities have not responded. She is being investigated under a new case on July 4th. She is charged of joining and funding a terrorist group through her relations inside the prison. Her detention was extended for 15 days pending investigations.
Later, Ola Al Qaradawi entered a hunger strike to protest extending her detention and to free her.
According to the report, the charges againt “Ola Al Qaradawi” cannot be real at all. She had been in solitary confinement for 2 years. She had no relations inside her detention facility. The organization calls for proving the charges to implement the Prosecution’s order to release her.

The organization condemns the violations of the Egyptian authorities as it violates the international laws and instruments ratified by Egypt most notably the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the International Convention against Torture.
