
Human Rights situation in the Middle East

On the (41st) session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, held from June 24th to July 12th, 2019 at the council’s headquarters in Geneva, Salam International organization for the Protection of Human Rights - SPH, in cooperation with:
- AFD International - Brussels.
- Justice for Human Rights (JHR) - Istanbul.
- El Shehab center for Human Rights (SHR) - London.
- Human Rights Monitor (HRM) - London.
Participated in several meetings and activities to rise the human rights situation in the Middle East generally, and in Egypt in particular.
Aiming at operationalization, the representatives of these organizations address the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights for an open discussion with Mrs. Veronica Michelle Bachelet - the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, to take the necessary measures in order to activate the Commissioner’s request to open an impartial international investigation in the circumstances of the death of the former Egyptian President Dr. Mohamed Morsi.
Along with several meetings with International Mechanisms concerned with human rights in Egypt.
The organization participates with a speech in the human Rights/legal colloquium tomorrow, Monday 24 June 2019, entitled: (Human Rights situation in the Middle East), scheduled in hall 27 inside the Human Rights Council headquarters, at 5:00 p.m. Geneva time.
During the colloquium, lawyer Mr. Alaa Abdelmonsef, director of the organization speaks about the human rights situation in Saudi Arabia, and the violations of the rights of human rights activists.
The speech will also shed the light on executions in the Kingdom that reached many scientists, thinkers, writers and opinion leaders.
