
After enforced disappearance for 12 days, “Aya Alaa” appeared on a case that dates back to 2018

The detainee “Aya Alaa” appeared yesterday, Saturday 29 June at High State Security Prosecution on Case no.640 of 2018, accused of communication with media about her husband’s case upon his detention at Al-Aqrab Prison.
Aya was arrested on June 20th, 2019 from Sheikh Zayed - Cairo governorate, while paying condolences to President “Mohammed Morsi’s wife”, she remained disappearing for 12 days until she showed up in High State Security prosecution yesterday.
Her husband was also detained at Al-Aqrab Prison back in 2015, she tried to help him on his case and that is her charge.
the organization condemns the enforced disappearance of “Aya” as it violates the international laws and instruments ratified by Egypt, most notably: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights of 1966.
The organization condemns all these proceedings as they violate the Egyptian Constitution and Law, and demands that the Prosecution validates her charges, before listing her on such case.
